How to Submit News, Viewpoints & Blog Entries
1.

 First, and most importantly, always compose your articles on your own PC and then paste them into our submission system as described, below.  Especially when starting out, errors can be made and your article lost if you compose directly in any website.  After you get used to the process, it is still advisable to compose locally, first, and then post to any site!  

Please NOTE:  if you compose in MS Word or any other word processor, please use the "W" clipboard function, in the composer menu above, as shown here:

If you just paste into the window, your article will be deleted becuase it takes a lot of time to clear out all of the coding that MS Word, and similar processors, utilize which are of no import in an HTML webpage.  

2.  Then, always remember to frequently save your work just like on your own word processing program.
3.  We have three types of articles:  (a) News - reserved for current events of a historical nature and of importance to conservatives; (b) Blogs - personal opinions of our users regarding current events of a political or historical nature of interest to conservatives, and others; and (c) Viewpoints - important statements of policy, major events effecting our movement and country and articles by individuals who are spokesmen and spokeswomen of the conservative movement in the USA. 
4.  Any registered user can submit any type of News or Blog.  You must get advance clearance from the Editor to submit a Viewpoint.  To do this, call the Editor at 800-361-2723.  To register, simply follow the "Login/Register" link at the top right corner of each page.
5.  All decisions of how an article is to be published remain with the editors.  Thus, an item may be submitted as a news article but be very important and become published as an RMC Viewpoint.  All submissions must be in English, good and proper, observing common norms of civility and usage.  After editorial review, which usually requires 24-hours, or less, a submission will be published in chronological order if deemed appropriate by our editors who's decision is final except that, should you disagree with a decision, you are authorized to submit a query and express your opinion utilizing our "Contact RMC' facility.

 After logging in, you will be taken to your "My Homepage" which is highly customizable (simply click "Edit" and let the world know all about yourself.  At the upper right corner of your "My Homepage" you will see three links entitled, "Blogging   Submit News   Submit Viewpoints".  Clicking on any of these links will take you to a compose page very similar to Microsoft Word's system.  If you get stumped, just move your arrow over any one of the icons and a pop-up will let you know its function.  In case you are stumped, or having problems, you can do a search on FCK Editor Instructions and you will have every question answered!  No - we did not choose FCK because of its name, but because it is the most robust - yet manageable - what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) editor on the market.

An important conceptt you should know is the "Teaser".  Please try to write your own teaser and then simply click on the "Teaser" icon in the FCK Editor toolbar.  Then, write (or paste) your full article.  You will note that clicking on the Teaser icon will insert a small line.  Please past your article below the line.  A teaser should be less than 50 words and encapsulate the article's theme.  Please do not use the first paragraph of your article because your readers will not be pleased with having to read the same words twice.

Another important item is to upload an image of yourself.  We will process your image so that it will show properly in the "Teaser" and also in the article itself.  You can upload other images if you wish such as jpg, gif or png.  If you experience any problems doing this, please contact us at 800-362-2723.

MOST IMPORTANT:  After you have finished all of your article, you are required to Spell Check!  You can do this using the ABC icon in the FCK toolbar.  Repeated submissions of error-laden articles will result in publication restrictions.

Keywords are also important!.  Our system will automatically select keywords from your submitted article which the editors will check.  However, each author should input in the "Keyword" space all applicable keywords.  If this is not done, your article may be either mis-categorized or not categorized at all in terms of the author's intent.

Supply a summary!  The FCK editor has a space for a summary.  Each author should do their best to summarize in 75 words, or less, what the submission is about.  If this is not done, search engines may well select completely nonsensical statements from the article as a summary.

7. For our site's security purposes, we only allow limited uploads of images, etc.  If you wish to embed a movie (e.g., a flv file) or some other object, please let us know and we will accommodate you.
After you have an article, or two, under your belt you will be a changed person, more worldly, handsome (or beautiful, as the case may be) and most importantly - you will have contributed to the ever-growing Conservative movement in the USA!
